Challenge, Survive, Advance

A team-based pickleball tournament where every team starts on a Challenger Court and fights to stay at the top.

 FORMAT

  • Maximum: 12 teams

  • Teams: 2 players per team

  • Matches: play to 11, win by 2

  • Objective: After 5 rounds of play, compete to move up or stay on the challenger court and avoid elimination.

  • Special Instructions: please use this field to indicate your partners name.

TEAM RATING REQUIREMENTS

  • Combined rating: 6.0–7.5

  • Partner rating difference: No more than 0.5

  • DUPR, designated club rating and honor system applies

THE CHALLENGE - PHASE 1

Court Rotation Format: 5 games

  • Teams are randomly assigned to courts to begin play.

  • The winning team on the Challenger Court (1) stays on that court.

  • The winning teams on all other courts move up one court.

  • The losing teams stay on their current court, except on the Challenger Court.

  • The losing team on the Challenger Court moves to the Elimination Court.

  • The Elimination Court is the lowest court, with teams rotating in based on the results from the Challenger Court.

SURVIVAL MODE - PHASE 2

Now the tournament changes to elimination mode; rallying scoring. This is where every game becomes a battle for survival.

  • The winning team on Challenger Court (Court 1) stays on Court 1.

  • The winning teams on all other courts move up one court.

  • The losing teams on all courts move down one court.

  • After the first round of elimination play, the two losing teams on the lowest courts play against each other for survival.

  • After the second round of elimination play, the two losing teams from the lowest two courts are eliminated.

  • Elimination continues until only one court remains.

  • The Elimination Court is the lowest court.

  • The elimination format is double elimination, giving teams a second chance before being eliminated.

The Elimination Rule: a team that loses on the last court is eliminated. The remaining teams continue moving up and down the courts as they fight to survive. The goal is no longer simply to win; the goal is to stay alive.

THE FINAL TWO

The Survival Round continues until only two teams remain. Those two teams advance to the:

 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

The final two teams play one championship game: game to 15, win by 2

Winners = Challenger Court Champions (and free entry into the next Challenger Court event)
